VTCT Gel Polish 1 Day Course - Level 2 Award

The course is accredited by VTCT, a leading awarding body in the beauty industry, and is ideal for those wanting to start a career in nail technology or for those who want to add to their existing skills. This 1-day course is designed to provide learners with practical skills and knowledge to confidently perform LED gel polish treatments on clients. Upon completion of the course, learners will receive a VTCT Level 2 Award in LED Gel Polish Techniques.
 
This qualification aims to enable you to enhance the ranges of services and techniques offered to nail services clients.  It also covers the skills and knowledge required to prepare for the service and maintain effective health, safety and hygiene working practices throughout the treatment
The award comprises of one unit which covers:-
Salon health, safety & hygiene
Anatomy & Physiology – Nail structure, bones of the hand;
Understand contra-indications that prevent or restrict the application of gel nails;
Be able to consult, plan and prepare for Gel polish treatments with clients;
Preparation of workstation;
Be able to carry out a gel nails application;
Be able to provide aftercare advice for clients.
 
There are no prequisites to attend the course, although Level 1/2 or IELTS 5.5/6 English would be advantageous, alternatively, English as a Second Language classes are available alongside booking a beauty course at Eastern Shimmer.
 
Please note:-
This qualification forms part of a larger suite of Level 2 nail services qualifications. There are limited specifc job roles or opportunities that can arise from taking this qualifcation award on it’s own, however opportunities for employment as a junior nail technician are possible through this award when taken alongside other Level 2 nail services or nail technology qualifcations such as:
•Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Nail Services
•Level 2 Certificate in Nail Technology

• Level 3 Diploma in Nail Technology
• Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Nail Services
