Service Description

This is a course to develop your practical skills in providing reflexology as a complementary therapy. Alongside learning techniques, you will learn how to identify parts of the body through the foot. The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in complementary therapy and provide you with the foundation for specialist employment as a reflexologist. The course consists of five units, covering consult, plan and prepare, health & safety, salon health & hygiene, anatomy & physiology of all body systems – contra-indications that prevent or restrict treatments, contra-action, prepare yourself and workstation and finally after care. All theory lessons and support is online. The course requires full commitment to attend practical sessions alongside independent study including evidence based portfolio including assignments, case studies and practical assessments. Two external online theory exams are compulsory to achieve the qualification. This course is over 21 weeks. Please note that 100 consultations is a mandatory requirement to pass the practical formatives before summative assessments to evidence competency. There are no entry requirements however, English must be at Level 2 standard to participate. An assessment/interview will be required prior commencement of course to participate. English as a Second Language is available separately for 2.5 hours a week at an extra charge, but must be booked concurrently with a beauty course at Eastern Shimmer. All VTCT qualifications stipulate completion of a mandatory Covid 19 theory and online exam which is available to be purchased seperately for £45.99. Further details will be given upon booking. A 20% booking fee applies, with full balance payable one week before course commencement to cover tuition, registration with awarding body and exam fees. Minimum participation is required to run. Eastern Shimmer reserves the right to cancel booking 7 days prior should numbers not be met with full refund given. Should you wish to cancel, 14 days notice is required for full refund of deposit/any monies paid. After this date, deposit of 20% is non refundable.
