BF VTCT Beauty Therapy General - Level 2 NVQ Diploma
The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy General is a job ready qualification based on National Occupational Standards (NOS). This qualification will provide you with the requisite knowledge, understanding and skills to work competently as a beauty therapist. Throughout this qualification you will ensure responsibility to reduce risks to health and safety, promote additional services or products to clients, develop and maintain your effectiveness at work, provide facial skincare treatment, enhance the appearance of eyebrows and lashes, carry out waxing services and provide pedicure and manicure services. You will be supervised by technical staff and assessed on your occupational competence.
Underpinning this qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety practice in a salon environment, client care and communication in beauty related industries and A&P in related subjects. You will also develop an underpinning knowledge and understanding of the practical skills learned throughout this qualification.
The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in beauty therapy to a high level of occupational ability, to enable you to perform your own salon services.
There are 8 compulsory units with two optional units that make up the full diploma. Evidence of working practice is required alongside internal and external assessments, online examinations, portfolio building and assignments to achieve the pass rate for this qualification.
The course requires commitment to weekly sessions and independent study of over a 26 week period. Evidence base portfolio including, assignments, case studies, practical assessments and an external online exam is compulsory to achieve the qualification.
There are no entry requirements however, English must be at Level 1/IELTS 5.5 standard to participate. An assessment/interview will be required prior commencement of course to participate.
English as a Second Language is available separately for 2.5 hours a week at an extra charge, but must be booked concurrently with a beauty course at Eastern Shimmer.
A beauty kit will be required to purchase for independent progression. Further details will be given upon booking. A 20% booking fee applies, with full balance payable one week before course commencement to cover tuition, registration with awarding body and exam fees.
Minimum candidate participation is required to run. Eastern Shimmer reserves the right to cancel booking 7 days prior should numbers not be met with full refund given. Should you wish to cancel, 14 days notice is required for full refund of deposit/any monies paid. After this date, deposit of 20% is non refundable.

A VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Services is received on completion of this course, which is an excellent qualification to gain to ensure you are covered for a range of Level 2 services. This course will also give you access to a range of level 3 qualifications.
Prior learning will be considered with a valid certificate in unit equivalent for discount to be applied.
The course can be completed online with physical observations in the salon/centre.
